Valuation of gemstones

Valuation of precious stones involves the following operations:

instrumental diagnostics of stones and identification of refinement;
recognition of imitations and fakes; determination of the quality characteristics of stones;
forecasting the cost of stones in jewelry and other products.

There are several systems for assessing the quality of stones and their value in the world. Some of them are more famous and popular, others less. They are almost all the same in terms of measurement parameters, but differ in measurement scales. There is no one universal rating system.

The assessment of gemstones is carried out by an experienced expert-gemologist with a higher education and special qualifications obtained at the leading State Gemological Center of Ukraine under the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, which undergoes daily practice of expert work. Examination of precious stones and diamonds is carried out using instrumental methods and with the help of modern gemological equipment.

The characteristics of precious stones are determined in accordance with the Technical Conditions and Regulations of the State Gemological Center of Ukraine, in accordance with the methods traditional for the CIS countries and international rules.

An expert opinion is issued based on the results of the examination.
